Isaiah got to meet his Great Grandma Edna today and they just loved each other to pieces! I'm so glad he has family that loves him and can't wait to see him.
On Monday he gets to go for a ride and meet his other Great Grandma (my Nana). I can't wait for her to meet him. This will be her 12th great grandchild and I know she'll love him just as much as she does the others.
Isaiah is doing well, besides the little rash on his tush. He's been eating and sleeping really well and he's been very alert when he is awake. He loves looking towards a light, even though I've heard they probably shouldn't look directly at a light. He loves cuddles with mommy and daddy and he likes watching sports with daddy. I'm sure they will do that until the day we die. He's currently eating 2 and a half ounces of formula at each feeding. He also drinks a bottle or two a day of breast milk. I continue to pump only because 1. My breast will feel like they're going to explode and 2. I feel it's better for him then nothing at all. We can definitely tell he's a formula baby though! Those toots and poops smell horrible! Poor baby doll.
Well that's my update. Going to enjoy some more free time while he snoozes on the couch in his boppy :)

Isaiah is two weeks old today! We went for a walk/stroller ride to the leasing office at our apartment complex and the ladies there just ate him up! He's currently taking his late afternoon nap, which is the only reason why I'm blogging. We went to the doctor on Monday cause the poor baby has a cold that he got from Mommy and Daddy :( but they prescribed him Zantac for his acid reflux which she said would also help his cold get better too and he has improved. We're not out of the woods but he does sound a whole lot better!
I did want to talk about breastfeeding. For the first 11/12 days of his life I did nothing but breastfeed (we had to supplement formula for the sole purpose of getting his blood sugars up in the hospital). Well our little piggy was taking 2 oz but Mommy was only producing 1 oz a feeding. So we've had to go to formula BUT I still pump and he gets a bottle or two of breast milk a day, so that's better than nothing I guess. I'm apart of a breastfeeding support group on Facebook and when I told somebody who was in the same boat as me that advice, this lady commented on there and said, "Do NOT do that." Uh, did you birth this 9 lb 12 oz 23 inches long baby? Did you carry him for ten months and be uncomfortable? Do you stay up with him as he cries because Mommy doesn't make enough to make him full? NO. You don't. I don't understand why people feel the need to tell others what to do. I'm a first time mom - yes, but I'm no idiot. I've been around babies since I can remember, I took care of my brother growing up, my two older cousins have babies just few months older than Isaiah so I obviously have a lot of people helping out. Plus a dad who has raised two kids, a step mom who has raised three kids and a mother-in-law who has raised four kids. I don't need anybody telling me what to do. I have plenty of people giving their advice on what they did or would do so I don't need a damn stranger telling me NOT to do that.
..if I could have come through that computer screen. You just don't know.
Random, but I LOVE the cheerios commercial where the daddy is explaining to the little girl that there is Mommy, Daddy and her and that she will get a baby brother and she decided there would be a puppy too. I love that even though cheerios had a lot of backlash because of the last commercial that showed a interracial relationship and a biracial child, they did it again!! I love it! :)

Well the time has come to meet Mr. Isaiah!!
He was born on Thursday, February 12th 2015 at 1:22 a.m. via C-section. He weighed 9 lbs 12 oz and was 23 inches long! The longest babies the nurses had seen at that hospital!
Last Wednesday, I was at home and had just went to the bathroom. Afterwards I went to our bedroom to lay down and ended up in a coughing fit (was fighting a cold coming on). I sat up to go back to the bathroom to spit out the colds when all of a sudden I felt a HUGE gush! I ran (more like waddled very fast) to the bathroom and caught it in time to not drip everywhere. I, unfortunately, smelt it to make sure it wasn't pee and sure enough my water had broke.
What makes this story a little more complicated started the day before my water broke. Nic called me that afternoon telling me that his van had broke down and I had to go get him. We thought it was one thing and figured out it wasn't so his dad wasn't able to fix it. We moved all our hospital bags to the car and ended up going home. On Wednesday morning, his dad came and got him to go fix his dad's van (hoping we could borrow it until we fixed Nic's) but his dad's van wasn't fixable at the time, so he dropped Nic off at home and me & him sat around in our bedroom for a little bit. Finally Nic got up to go take his van key to his van so the tow truck could tow it to the shop. As Nic had left, that's when my water broke. Also, his brother was on our air mattress in the middle of our living room floor so it made it more challenging trying to get back to the bedroom without him seeing me if he woke up.
I called Nic and told him. He said he had already called the towing company so I told him to just hurry and drop the key off because I wasn't having any contractions, just pouring water. So I sat on the bed for a while with a towel underneath me and texted everyone that my water had broke (and luckily for my truck driver daddy, he had a run to Charleston which is three hours away from here). I was able to get Nic's brother up and told him to get his things together. When Nic got here we got dressed and headed to the hospital. It was the most exciting ride because we knew we would be coming back home with a baby in the car.
That was between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and my labor didn't start until around 2 p.m. but I was barely dilated. I was in labor for about 11/12 hours before the doctor finally decided that it was better to have a C-section since I wasn't dilating after all that medicine, I was in extreme pain (I'm a weenie when it comes to pain), and Isaiah wasn't reacting like he should in the womb. So they gave me my epidural and wheeled me to the operating room. I shook the whole time (I didn't realize that was a side-effect to an epidural) and was a little scared, but I knew it would bring me closer to seeing our little boy. They made sure I was prepped and ready before Nic came back. I only felt pressure when they were cutting, but it was still painful for me. I was praying so loud that all the nurses and doctor could hear me. I didn't care because that was the only way I was getting through that pain. Finally, at 1:22 p.m. I heard Isaiah cry for the first time and it was like I never was in pain to begin with. I began crying and couldn't wait for them to rush him over to see me. The next five minutes of washing him off, weighing him, etc. was the longest 5 minutes because Nic was able to see him and I was anxiously waiting to see him. When Nic brought him over to see me he was just as calm as could be and had them eyes wide! He looked just like his Daddy. They sewed me up and put him on my chest and was wheeled back to the room. I couldn't believe he was here, it was like a dream (still is!). After about two or three hours of bonding and him nursing, we had some family that was still waiting at the hospital come back to see him. I was kind of out of it and in a little pain, but was so excited that he was here. We stayed in the hospital from Wednesday until Sunday, simply because I had a C-section and we couldn't get Isaiah's blood sugars up fast enough to discharge him. I've never felt so much pain after re-cooperating from something. The first shower was terrible yet felt great to finally wash off. All the nurses and staff however were just as nice as can be and pushed me to move around so I'd feel better. They all commented on how beautiful he was and that he was such a good baby.
When we got to go home on Sunday I was so excited. It was REALLY cold outside so we had him bundled up to the point we didn't know if we had a baby or a little teddy bear. We got home and settled in and Nic left with his mom to get some stuff we would need for the week (since we were expecting winter weather today, Tuesday) while Isaiah's Aunt Amanda stayed with me and helped me out. The first night was terrible, since I was in pain, tired as hell and couldn't do much for myself so I had to rely on Nic to help and that made him not have any sleep. We finally have Isaiah on some what of a routine feeding wise. He is snoozing beside me after getting his belly full! Daddy is laying in the floor finally getting to play some video games after almost a week of not even thinking about it. Nic is SUCH a good Daddy. He just loves on Isaiah and helps out equally and as much as he can. I know he'd nurse him if he could.
Here below are some pictures of our big guy and his first days of life; Enjoy!!
So glad our little booger is finally here! :) It makes my mommy heart swell!

We're 39 weeks today! This picture was taken yesterday (at 38 weeks and 6 days). My blood pressure has been high the last week in a half, but today at the doctors it was 124/90 and they monitored Isaiah. He was being a bad boy, kicking around making me hold the monitor so they could get a clear hearing of his heartbeat and whatnot. Our next appointment is on Wednesday at 2 p.m. so maybe the doctor will say something about him coming sooner than later?! I surely hope so!
